IBCT is committed to using the best wood available.  To do that, we draw from our sources and experience around the world.  Wood can be imported from the USA or Europe, or we buy locally using brokers.  We go through a strict selection process which sets us apart from many other factories.  With many years’ experience in building $2000-$25000 guitars, we know good wood – so we hand select the back, sides and top to make the best possible instrument for you.

The wood is seasoned in our supplier's kiln or on-site at the factory and brought to the correct humidity level before production begins.  Our production process also minimises the waste where possible to stay eco-friendly.

·Ovankol

More exotic woods can be purchased on request – Tasmanian Blackwood, Koa, Cocobolo, Madagascar Rosewood, Claro Walnut.  However, as these come from the USA or Europe and require 9-12 months drying time before use, it is vital to understand your requirements in advance.  These woods naturally come at a premium.
